Political Newcomers File To Run For Hopkinsville City Council

One of the Hopkinsville City Council wards that will have new representation in 2023 has its first official candidate for the seat.

Republican Mark Graham filed to run for the Ward 7 position Monday at the Christian County Clerks Office. Incumbent Terry Parker announced last month that he would not seek re-election to the council seat.

Also filing Monday to run for Hopkinsville City Council was Republican Jamie Lynn Lienberger for the Ward 9 seat held by Patricia Bell.

Two candidates for county office who had previously announced their intent to run made it official with their filings Monday.

Democrat Mark Wells filed for another term on Christian County Fiscal Court from District 2, and Republican Katie Moyer became the first candidate to officially file for the judge-executive seat. Current Judge-executive Steve Tribble along with Magistrate Jerry Gilliam have both previously announced they will file to run in the May primary for the seat.
