The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library has announced KaDessa Snorton as the library’s new Imagination Library Coordinator.
Executive Director DeeAnna Sova says Snorton is a graduate of Murray State University and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work.
Snorton said she is glad to be able to serve the community that helped groom her into the woman she is today. She added a phrase she lives by is “One Person Can Make a Difference” and getting a book into the hands of every little person in the Christian County area is going to be her way of making a difference. Snorton said she is excited about this new adventure.
Sova said Snorton has a heart for children, families and sharing the gift of literacy. She added that Snorton has already hit the ground running and they are happy she chose Imagination Library to make a difference.
The Dolly Parton Imagination Library is a free book program for any child, birth to 5 years old, that lives in Christian County. Enrollment in the program provides an age-appropriate book that is delivered to the child’s home each month. Sova noted the Christian County Imagination Library is entering its 9th year and averages approximately 3,400 children each month throughout the county. The program is funded through support from local government, the United Way of the Pennyrile and private donations.
