Christmas preparations are continuing at Western State Hospital as they look for ways to benefit patients at the hospital and residents at the Western State Nursing Facility during the holiday season.
Community Services Coordinator Tony Winfield with Western State Hospital says individuals, groups, and businesses can participate in a variety of ways including providing gifts for men and women ages 18 and older.
He says the facility’s budget can’t include the extras they want to provide for Christmas.
click to download audioWinfield suggested some gift items include hygiene products, knit caps and gloves, crossword and word search books, playing cards, composition books, and socks.
click to download audioWinfield also says individuals, groups, and businesses can sponsor a party for a unit of 15 patients which usually costs around $150 to purchase refreshments and goodies.
