There will be an opposed race for the District 1 seat on Trigg County Fiscal Court in the fall of 2022.
Republican John Oliver filed his papers earlier this week for the seat currently held by Democrat Mike Wright, who has already filed for another term.
District 1 is comprised of the southern area of Cadiz and the area immediately south of the city.
The deadline to file for the May primary is January 7.
