Large crowds lined the streets of downtown Cadiz Saturday night to welcome in the holiday season with the annual Cadiz Trigg County Christmas Parade.
The parade featured the Trigg County Wildcat Band, the middle school band, and more than 40 entries adorned with thousands of Christmas lights and decorations. The parade is sponsored by the Trigg County Chamber of Commerce with 2021 Citizen of the Year Kim Fortner among those leading the parade following the Trigg County Sheriff’s Department, Cadiz Police Department, and members of the Trigg County Youth Leadership program.
Liberty Point Baptist Church won the float division, with Trigg County FFA taking second place, and Trigg County Rescue earning the third place spot. The Pleasant Hill Pentecostal Church Youth float was awarded Best of Theme. And Trigg-Lyon Fire Department took top honors in the Best Use of Lights division.
And the parade was rounded out by Santa Claus riding high above the crowd on the Cadiz Fire Truck.
This year’s parade was sponsored by Pennyrile Electric.
