NWS Says 3-4 Inches of Snow Could Blanket Trigg, Todd, Christian Counties

The National Weather Service says 3 to 4 inches of snow could blanket the ground in Trigg, Christian, and Todd counties throughout the day Thursday with temperatures in the single digits Thursday night.

During a conference call Wednesday afternoon, Weather Service Lead Forecaster Chris Noles said the southern Pennyrile has seen its snow prediction increase to three to four inches.

Noles said the snow will move through the southern Pennyrile region between 8 and 10 Thursday morning and move out in the afternoon.

Noles said the snow likely won’t affect the morning commute to work but could cause some problems coming home.

Once the snow moves through, temperatures will plunge into the single digits with a wind chill of near zero.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory until 7 Thursday night for Caldwell, Christian, Hopkins, Lyon, Marshall, Todd, and Trigg counties. Noles breaks down what has to happen for an advisory or warning to be issued by the weather service.
