A Cadiz woman was charged with possession of drugs and resisting arrest on Dawson Springs Road in Christian County Sunday night.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say 39-year-old April Cottrell was seen on the side of the road and when deputies stopped to check on her she would not give her name and was acting very erratically.
When deputies reached for her hands she reportedly resisted arrest and tried to get something from her pocket.
Deputies say after she was in custody, she was found to have a knife in her sleeve and meth, syringes, and pills in her purse. Cottrell was found to have active warrants in Trigg County and Christian County for probation violations.
She was arrested and charged with possession of meth second offense, second-degree possession of a controlled substance, public intoxication, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental operations.
