Health Department Continues Search For Permanent Director

The Christian County Board of Health is continuing its search for a permanent public health and hopes to have the position filled soon.

During the Christian County Board of Health’s quarterly meeting Monday night, Chairman Dr. Joe Dempsey provided an update about the search for a new director after former director Kayla Bebout resigned July 16, 2021.

Dr. Dempsey explained they had to start the search process over again after receiving approval from the state they could offer a contract.

Dr. Dempsey added he hopes a permanent director will be in place soon.

Clinical Program Director Jennifer Watkins provided an update about the clinic and said they are continuing to administer COVID vaccinations with the help of the Kentucky National Guard due to the large number of people they are seeing on a daily basis.

Marketing and Communications Director Chloie Rager said they are continuing to market COVID vaccines and they are working to set up an automated system calls to help out with negative test results.

Interim Director Devin Brumfield also provided a building committee report about the roofing project. He said he has spoken with Swift Roofing and the roof on the health department is next on the contractor’s list once they complete a project they currently are working on in Union County. He added they should start on the roof by April at the latest.

The next regularly scheduled Christian County Board of Health meeting is April 25.
