An Elkton man was charged with fleeing or evading police after a residential check on Sunset Drive in Elkton Monday night.
Elkton Police Officer Jakop Smith says 42-year-old Dean Jones was found outside the home and fled on foot from law enforcement before he was captured near the intersection of South Main Street.
After a search of the home and his belongings, Jones was charged with first-degree criminal trespassing, first-degree fleeing or evading police, and possession of meth and marijuana.
Smith says he was assisted by Elkton Police Sgt. Rodney Moberly, Officer John Webb, and Todd County Sheriff’s Deputies David Hutcheson and Dennis Brown.
