Several facilities and attractions at Land Between the Lakes will open this week as the USDA Forest Service continues clean-up operations following a pair of December tornadoes and a winter ice storm.
Energy Lake Campground, Hillman Ferry Campground, and Piney Campground will open Tuesday with the Homeplace 1850s Working Farm, North Welcome Station, South Welcome Station, and the Woodlands Nature Station opening on Wednesdays through Sunday starting this week. On April 1, those facilities will be open daily.
The Moss Creek Day Use Area is tentatively scheduled to open on April 1.
Carlin Lewis with the USDA Forest Service says the past two months have been spent cleaning up from December’s tornadoes that struck both the northern and southern end of LBL and the subsequent ice storm that felled trees.

click to download audioPopular attractions such as the Elk and Bison Prairie, Golden Pond Planetarium, Turkey Bay, and Wrangler’s Camp remain open year-round as weather conditions allow.
