Juvenile In Custody After Hopkinsville Pursuit

A traffic stop on a stolen vehicle led to a pursuit in Hopkinsville Wednesday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say they attempted to stop a car on Means Avenue and the juvenile driver fled leading them on a pursuit that came to an end in a field off of Metcalfe Lane.

The driver reportedly stopped just before the car went into the river and fled on foot crossing the river before being arrested on North Campbell Street.

During the pursuit, the juvenile hit a Christian County Sheriff’s Deputies vehicle and attempted to hit a Hopkinsville Police officer’s vehicle.

The juvenile’s name has not been released but police say he is charged with wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police, and more charges are pending.
