A man and woman were arrested after a pursuit in Madisonville when police attempted to pull over a vehicle reported stolen out of Illinois Wednesday morning.
Madisonville Police say officers located a vehicle near Island Ford Road that was listed as stolen from Whiteside County, Illinois shortly before 7:00 a.m. When officers attempted to stop the car, the driver later identified as 32-year old Ethan Seidel, of Rock Falls, Illinois, reportedly swerved toward one of the patrol cars while trying to escape.
Police said the vehicle fled north on Interstate 69 and exited near Hanson and eventually went into McLean County where deputies in that county and state police joined in the pursuit. The vehicle pursuit ended when police said Seidel wrecked near Livermore. Seidel and his passenger, 40-year old Melissa Zigler, of Tampico, Illinois, were both apprehended after a brief foot pursuit.
During a search of the vehicle, police said they found suspected methamphetamine and crack cocaine.
Seidel and Zigler were both charged with receiving stolen property over $10,000 or more, possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of a controlled substance (crack cocaine), possession of drug paraphernalia, and fleeing or evading police on foot. Seidel was also charged with fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle and reckless driving. Both subjects were lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
