The Hopkinsville Police Department has five new officers following their completion of the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training’s police academy Friday.
Officers Brent Brent McAskill, Timothy Gallogly, Cheyenne Rose, Dylan Greenwell, and Victoria Cuellar will spend time with a police training officer at the HPD before transitioning into a solo patrol detail.
The five officers were part of academy class 525 who received 800 hours of recruit-level instruction over 20 weeks. The major training areas included patrol procedures, physical training, defensive tactics, criminal law, traffic and DUI, firearms, criminal investigations, cultural awareness, bias-related crimes, and tactical responses to crisis situations.
