Law Enforcement Continues Investigation Into Skeletal Remains Found In Todd County

The Kentucky State Medical Examiner’s Office joins law enforcement in investigating human bones found in a wooded area off of Big Pond Road in Todd County Wednesday morning.

Kentucky State Police say someone hunting in the area located the bones in a wooded area off of Big Pond Road. Dr. Christopher Keifer with the Kentucky State Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and says the skeletal remains are human.

Police say it’s unknown how long the bones have been there but they are talking to all local law enforcement agencies about missing person reports.

Members from the Forensic Anthropology Center out of the University of Tennessee joined the investigation Friday to assist with the removal of the bones.

Police say the remains have not been identified and the cause of death is unknown at this time.

Big Pond Road runs between Clarksville Road in Kentucky and Suiter Road in Tennessee.
