The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office and county officials have created a tribute in the main hall on the first floor of the courthouse honoring Caldwell County native and former deputy, Calloway County Chief Deputy Jody Cash.

Officials say the community is invited to come to the courthouse and jot down a memory or note to the family or simply sign the book to let them know they are all in our thoughts and prayers. They note the book will be given to Cash’s family.

Meanwhile, following the tragic death of Chief Deputy Cash, 1st District Congressman James Comer honored the late law enforcement officer in a speech on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives Tuesday.

Comer noted that Cash, who had served in numerous roles from the Murray State Police Department to the Kentucky State Police, was both a distinguished and caring law enforcement officer.

He was named the 2013 Post 1 Trooper of the Year and then later went to work at the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office.
