A Hopkinsville man was charged after he reportedly fled from law enforcement on South Main Street in Hopkinsville Thursday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they attempted to stop 51-year-old Edward Wilford after he was seen involved in a possible drug transaction and he fled on foot into an apartment.
He reportedly would not comply with the officer’s demands and was tased when they were arresting him. Police say he was found to have cocaine on him.
Wilford was arrested and found to also not be compliant with the sex offender registry. He is charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police, possession of cocaine, resisting arrest, and failure to comply with the sex offender registry.
