A Hopkinsville man was charged after he reportedly assaulted his girlfriend on Richard Street in Hopkinsville Friday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say 47-year-old John Smith was in an argument with his girlfriend when he threw a remote at her, hit her in the eye, then hit her with an unknown object. Police say during the fight, he also put his arm around her throat.
He was arrested and charged with first-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault.
