The Christian County Board of Health approved the Fiscal Year 2022-23 budget with no change to the public health tax rate.
At the board’s quarterly meeting Monday night, Christian County Health Department Director Devin Brumfield said the total budget of $5.06 million dollars includes a 5-percent annual increment and retains the public health tax rate of 3.2-percent.
click to download audioHe noted there were a few differences from last year’s budget including salaries for additional employees and a slight increase in fringe.
click to download audioBrumfield said the health department is also the first in the state to receive Public Health Transformation funding which replaced the Core of Public Health Block Grant.
This budget, he noted, includes more than $920,000 in funding that the health department hasn’t received in the past.
click to download audioIn other action, the health board approved the proposed 2022-2023 personnel and annual evaluation bonus structure, with the only change the 5-percent annual increment that the board approved in the budget.
