Work Continues In Lyon County On I-24 Westbound Lane

Traffic on Interstate 24 westbound in Lyon County continues to be restricted to one lane at the 49 to 45-mile marker due to damaged concrete pavement.

District 1 spokesman Keith Todd with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says this work zone is in southern Lyon County from near the Lyon-Caldwell County line to the Eddyville-Princeton KY 293 Exit 45 Interchange.

Now that an initial round of work has been completed, Todd indicates the contractor plans to move to night work starting Monday in order to avoid the extreme heat forecast for next week. The nighttime work zone is expected to be in place for about 3 to 4 weeks depending on the weather.

There is no impact to eastbound traffic.
