The annual Western Kentucky State Fair kicks off its nine-day run today at the fairgrounds.
Tony Meacham with the fair board said a lot of work has been completed this week to get the fair off and running.

click to download audioThe gates open at 5 o’clock with the rides on the midway to start spinning, twirling, and oscillating at six.
Also starting tonight at 6 are the pedal pull competitions in front of the convention center and the petting zoo.
Meacham said if you come to the fair hungry, there will be plenty of spots to get fed with several of those being fundraisers for local clubs and groups.
