Board members with Pennyrile Rural Electric were pleased with this month’s customer appreciation days which will likely take the place of their annual in-person meetings in conjunction with the Western Kentucky State Fair.
The 84th annual meeting was held via Zoom conference Tuesday. President and CEO Alan Gates said engaging customers in the communities they live in proved beneficial and said their partnership with the fair will also continue.
click to download audioGates also discussed Pennyrile Electric’s partnership with Hopkinsville Electric in providing broadband internet in rural areas of the counties they serve.
click to download audioDuring the meeting, Gates reported assets of $298 million with long-term debt of $106 million for the electric cooperative. In addition, $10 million will be reinvested into the electric coop.
Bates Payne Jr., Robert Allen, and Joey Rogers were elected to a three-year term on the board of directors.
There was no mention of rate adjustments for 2022-23 at the meeting.
