The Todd County Sheriff’s Office has a new K-9 that is trained in narcotics detection.
Sheriff Tracy White announced Monday that Toro, an 18-month Dutch Shepard, will join the force after K9 Deputy Jonathan Knight secured a grant to purchase the dog from the United States Police Canine Association.
Toro comes to the U.S. from Poland and was purchased from Final Alert K-9 in Dukedom, Tennessee. White said Toro is certified in narcotics detection and will later be trained in tracking and criminal apprehension.
