Law enforcement is continuing to search for a fugitive out of Lyon County.
Around 9:00 Wednesday night, Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reported they had called off the search for the fugitive, identified as 61-year old Kenneth M. Morris, after learning he was no longer in the county after getting a ride to the Hopkinsville area.
The search for Morris began after the sheriff reported he abandoned a vehicle near Tom & Barb’s grocery on KY 93 South about 4 miles south of Eddyville Wednesday evening. White said the search for Morris was in the Tinsley Creek Road area.
According to Sheriff White, Morris is wanted for three counts of burglary, possession of methamphetamine, and tampering with a prisoner monitoring device (ankle monitor). In addition, he has two other warrants for failure to appear.
Morris is described as a white male, 5’-10” in height, 210 lbs., hazel eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing blue/white shorts and a white buttoned shirt.
If you see Morris, Sheriff White says do not approach him and call 9-1-1 immediately. He indicates Morris has an extensive 42-page criminal history including violent offenses.
