A Hopkinsville man who was in jail on a murder charge has now been charged with soliciting someone to bring drugs into jail.
Hopkinsville Police say on July 13th 25-year-old Cortez Hairston Jr. asked someone to bring drugs and a cell phone into the jail but they were stopped by jail staff before he received them.
He is charged with first-degree promoting contraband (solicitation).
Hairston was indicted by the Christian County Grand Jury in April along with two others in connection to the shooting death of 23-year old Adrian Acree who was shot multiple times and found on Jones Street near the intersection of Sharpe Street on October 26th.
23-year old Dekorian Daniel and 24-year old Jaila B. Sherrod, both of Hopkinsville, were also indicted on a charge of complicity to murder in connection to the same shooting.
