A man who was allegedly abused at a home in Oak Grove died in a Madisonville Hospital Saturday.
Oak Grove Police Officer Michael Ferrell says they were notified of 70-year-old Anthony Gilstrap Sr. on Timberline Circle that was taken to the hospital unresponsive with signs of severe neglect, gangrene, sepsis, an open wound with bones showing, and pressure ulcers on July 28th.
The investigation led police to arrest 39-year-old Ann Harrison and 43-year-old Jacob Gilstrap charging them with knowingly exploiting an adult over $300, knowingly abuse or neglect of an adult, and first-degree criminal abuse.
Ferrell says Anthony Gilstrap Sr. went into septic shock at the hospital and had to have a feeding tube and had to have bilateral leg amputations.
Gilstrap and Harrison reportedly put themselves as a power of attorney over his banking account and removed money from his account and started a life insurance policy for him.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing and more charges are pending. Anthony Gilstrap Sr. died at a Madisonville hospital Saturday.
