A home on Linda Drive in Oak Grove was badly damaged and the family’s cat is unaccounted for after a fire started in the home Wednesday afternoon.
Oak Grove Firefighters say the fire is believed to have started in a back bedroom with a candle causing extensive fire damage to the room and smoke damage to the rest of the home.
A man and woman along with two dogs were able to get out of the home uninjured but the man was taken to the hospital by ambulance for medical problems he started having after getting out of the home.
One of the family’s cats was rescued out of the home by firefighters and given oxygen and is believed to be doing well. A second cat that was inside the home has not been located.
Firefighters say no one will be able to stay in the home due to the damage.
The home is located at 928 Linda Drive and the cause of the fire was unknown.
Oak Grove Fire Department was assisted by Pembroke in Fort Campbell fire departments.
