The News Edge will partner with the Trigg County Republican and Democrat committees to host General Election forums for Cadiz City Council, Trigg Circuit Court Clerk, and 8th District State Representative Tuesday.
The forums will air on live on 106.5 WKDZ-FM and wkdzradio.com. The forums will be hosted by The Way Christian Youth Center and are open to the public. The forum will begin at 6:00 with a presentation by Trigg County Clerk Carmen Finley, who will discuss in the detail the write-in voting process that will be available to voters in both the 56th District Judge race and the Trigg County Sheriff’s race.
Following Finley’s presentation, the forum will begin with Cadiz City Council candidates. Those running for Cadiz City Council will have a chance to discuss their reasons for seeking a term on council, and what they hope to accomplish during a two-year term.
The incumbent Stephen Washer and challenger Lisa Fuller Thomas will be featured in the second forum. They will have a chance to discuss their qualifications for office, customer service, and other aspects of the serving as Circuit Court Clerk.
The final forum will involve Eighth District State Representative Walker Thomas and Democratic challenger Pam Dossett. Both will have a chance to discuss their qualifications for office and their stance on issues impacting the state of Kentucky and voters in the eighth district which includes portions of Trigg and Christian Counties and all of Caldwell County.
The audience will be allowed to submit potential questions for candidates in each of the races.
A second forum involving candidates for Trigg County Magistrate, 56th District Judge, and Trigg County Sheriff is slated for Tuesday, October 25, at 6:00 at The Way Christian Youth Center.
