A Memphis, Tennessee man was charged with fleeing from police and assault after a report of a disturbance on South Kentucky Avenue in Hopkinsville Thursday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 49-year-old Joseph Tidwell put a woman in a headlock and threatened to break her neck during an altercation. He then fled on foot when police started questioning him about the incident.
Police say he was located and would not put his hands behind his back and was found to be in possession of a meth pipe.
He was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault – dating violence, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, and second-degree fleeing or evading police.
