Christian County Officials To Take Oath Of Office Thursday

A host of Christian County newly elected and returning officials will take the oath of office during a series of swearing-in ceremonies Thursday afternoon in the Christian County Justice Center and the Christian County Fiscal Court Room.

The ceremonies begin at 1:00 in the District One courtroom with Katherine Demps who will become the new Christian County Family Court Judge . Demps will join Judge Jason Fleming in the Family Court Division.

Christian County Sheriff Tyler DeArmond and his staff will be sworn in at 1:30 in district courtroom three. Coroner Scott Daniel and his deputies will also be sworn in 1:30. New Christian County Attorney Lincoln Foster, his assistants and staff will be sworn in at 2:30. Newly elected Christian County Jailer Adam Smith and staff will be sworn in at 3:00. New Christian County Judge Executive Jerry Gilliam and the Magistrates of Fiscal Court will take their oath at 3 pm. They will be joined by constables and deputy constables at 3:00.

And new Christian County clerk Melinda Humphries and her staff will be sworn in at 4 in the Fiscal Court Room due to time constraints which require her office to be open until that time.

There will also be a reception for retiring Christian County Attorney John Soyars in the District Two courtroom from 2 until 4:30.

The swearing-in ceremonies will be conducted by Circuit Judges John Atkins and Andrew Self, District Court Judges Foster Cothoff and Lindsey Adams, and Family Court Judge Jason Fleming.
