Governor Andy Beshear has named a new Tourism, Arts, and Heritage Cabinet Secretary to replace Secretary Mike Berry, who is retiring in February.
Beshear announced January 5 that Deputy Personnel Cabinet Secretary Lindy Casabier will become the secretary following Secretary Berry’s retirement. Berry has led the Tourism, Arts, and Heritage Cabinet since the beginning of Governor Beshear’s administration in 2019.
Casabier is a native of Louisville. He was appointed in December 2019 as the Deputy Secretary for the Personnel Cabinet after serving as a public school educator for several years. Casabier served as an administrator, legislator, and non-profit director. He also previously served in the Tourism, Arts, and Heritage Cabinet. And Casabier represented Louisville for 18 years in the Kentucky General Assembly.
Secretary Berry was apponted by Governor Beshear to head up the Tourism, Arts, and Heritage Cabinet on DEcember 10, 2019. Berry previously served as President and CEO of the Kentucky Derby Festival.
