Earlier this week, officials with Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation announced the selection of Rachel Sanders as the department’s next marketing and events coordinator.
She’s already started in her new role, and is working out of the Thomas Street Recreation Center facility.
In a written statement, Parks Superintendent Tab Brockman noted that Sanders “rose to the top of an excellent pool of applicants,” and that he looks forward to “the creativity, talent and communication skills she brings to this important position.”
A Hopkinsville native and graduate of Heritage Christian Academy, Sanders received her bachelor’s degree in communications from Asbury University. Following graduation, she worked in government contracting, and relocated back to this area in 2020 to work remotely as a marketing freelancer and event coordinator.
She will primarily focus on marketing for the Sportsplex, department events, sponsorship development and social media management, and she’ll play an integral role right off the bat — assisting with preparations for the Hopkinsville’s International Festival.
