Eighth District State Representative Walker Thomas says the Kentucky House of Representatives is considering legislation that will help ensure first responder rescue crews are available to respond in the event of future natural disasters.
Representative Thomas says the Kentucky House heard the first reading of the Kentucky Urban Search and Rescue bill that will set up a process to provide needed search and rescue services after a disaster.
The bill was initially introduced in the Veterans, Military Affairs, and Public Protection Committee, but has been referred to the House Appropriations and Revenue Committee for consideration.
