The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced plans for a work zone and westbound lane restriction of Interstate 24 in Trigg County, beginning Thursday, February 23.
From the 69 to 68 mile markers near the Trigg/Christian county line, the measure will allow for maintenance work and the stabilization of a shoulder area that “may” be impacting some concrete pavement slabs along the driving lane.
All westbound motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they approach the 69 mile marker, as all traffic will be moved to the left-hand passing lane in this mile-long work zone.
Because of excavations expected along this shoulder area, the work zone will remain up until the work is completed.
Flaggers and maintenance personnel will be along the roadway and in close proximity of the traffic flow. Trucks will be hauling material to and from the shoulder area. Some minor delays should be expected, due to the movement and positioning of equipment facilitating the work.
This work zone lane restriction is expected to be in place for about one week. There will be no impact on eastbound travel at this worksite.
