Wind Gusts Reached 70 MPH At Some Locations Friday

Graphic(s) provided by The National Weather Service in Paducah – All of the wind gusts below 62 MPH were experienced in non-thunderstorm conditions

Friday’s low pressure system brought some of the highest wind gusts measured across our region this year.

The National Weather Service in Paducah said Fort Campbell, Cadiz, and a site six miles north of Hopkinsville reported wind gusts up to 70 MPH during the last line of severe thunderstorms.

Madisonville’s highest gust was around 62 MPH, while Princeton’s highest was 59 MPH. Both of those were after the thunderstorms rolled through.

Additionally, the region saw anywhere from nine-tenths of an inch to two inches of rainfall. The highest rainfall totals in western Kentucky came from Livingston and McCracken counties.
