Three Weapons Detection Systems Being Delivered This Week For CCPS

The Christian County Public School system will begin receiving some of the weapons detection systems recently approved for purchase by the district’s school board.

Superintendent Chris Bentzel tells Your News Edge they expect at least three systems to be installed this week.

Bentzel says the systems should be fully delivered and installed before the end of the current school year.

Some of those systems will be utilized for events outside the high school campuses, including graduation night at the Stadium of Champions.

The weapons detection systems are coming from ERS Wireless, costing over $809,000. Bentzel says Hopkinsville High School and Christian County High School will each have four weapons detection systems, while Bluegrass Academy will receive one.
