Katie McCollom, 87, Lafayette Road, Hopkinsville, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Covington’s Convalescent Center of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Lamb Funeral Home with Rev. Melvin Felts officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the funeral home.
A native of Owensboro, KY, she was born on March 16, 1935, the daughter of the late William Greenwell and the late Mary (Tipmore) Greenwell.
Katie was a substitute teacher and a secretary. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. McCollom; her brothers; William Greenwell, Ronnie Greenwell, and Donnie Greenwell; her sisters; Phyllis Newton, Dorothy Embry, Virginia Polter, Betty Ambs, Ann Curtis and Mryl Bloomquit.
Survivors include her sons, Mark Franklin (Barb) McCollom, Warsaw, IN, Barry (Jean) McCollom, New Concord, KY; her brothers, James Greenwell, Oak Hill, VA, Wayne Greenwell, Owensboro, KY; her sisters, Jane Ranson, Bardstown, KY, Catherine Wigginton, Owensboro, KY; her grandchildren, Nathan, Zeb, Barry Jr., Drew, Katarina, Georgia, and Brady.
