After taking back ownership of an East 7th Street property just two weeks ago, the City of Hopkinsville will now be disposing of the building.
At Tuesday night’s City Council meeting, members voted to declare 409 East 7th Street surplus property. The move will allow the mayor to dispose of the property by state statute, which includes sale, auction, bid, or trade.
Meanwhile, Chief Financial Officer, Melissa Clayton told the council that the payroll tax did not have a strong month in February.
