Earl Richard Bowry, Jr., 79, of Hopkinsville, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at his home of natural causes.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, April 3, 2023, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with entombment to follow at Green Hill Memorial Garden. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Monday, April 3, 2023. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mr. Bowry was born March 21, 1944, in Providence, Rhode Island, the son of the late Earl Richard Bowry, Sr., and Martha Heilman Bowry. Earl retired from construction where he did home improvements with Al’s Home Improvements. He had achieved Kentucky Colonel, started Square Deal Volunteer Fire Department, volunteered at Highland Volunteer Fire Department, and was a Woodmen of The World Insurance President Lodges. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters; Christine Billings, Wendy Wasey, and Kathy Bowry.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Geneva Mattingly Bowry of Hopkinsville; his son, Earl David Bowry of Madisonville; his daughter, Mary Martha Johnson of Christian County, three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
