Patricia “Patty” H. Burd, age 73, of Pembroke passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Pembroke United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be at Pembroke United Methodist Church from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 4, 2023. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mrs. Burd was born on July 28, 1949, in Newport News, Virginia, the daughter of the late ET and Joan Eagan Hollimon. Patty retired from Pembroke Elementary after 50 years of teaching. She was a member of Pembroke United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Hollimon; and her sister, Dawn O’Brien.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, TD Burd of Pembroke; her son, Davy Burd and his wife Dana of Pembroke; her daughter, Cathy Pendleton and her husband Ken of Pembroke; her brothers, Tommy Hollimon and his wife Gail of Hopkinsville, Robin Hollimon of Hopkinsville; her grandchildren, Kimberly Adams (L J), Lexie Pendleton (Wyatt Ethridge), Lyndsey Jenkins (Mitchell), Ross Pendleton, David Burd; and her great-grandchildren, Dakota Jenkins, Ashlynn Adams, Marshall Jenkins, and Presleigh Adams.
