A woman was rushed to the hospital after she was pulled from a burning home on Morningside Drive Monday morning.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Payton Rogers says they were called for smoke and flames coming from the back of the home and when they arrived they found that a woman and several pets were still inside.
The woman and two dogs were reportedly rescued from the home by firefighters and the woman was given CPR before she was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Health, where a helicopter was also called to transport her to another hospital.
Rogers says a man and the two dogs firefighters rescued were not injured in the fire adding three dogs were killed in the fire along with two cats.
The home suffered fire damage to the back of the structure and smoke damage throughout the home, Rogers says it’s unknown at this time what caused the fire.
