Deborah Hughes, 65, of Elkton

The Todd County Funeral Home is honored to have been called to serve the family of Mrs. Deborah Hughes.

Mrs. Deborah Hughes, age 65 of Elkton, passed away on Saturday, April 1st at the Centennial Medical Center in Nashville of natural causes.

She was born April 18, 1957, in Charlotte, North Carolina daughter of the late Winford Lee and Evelyn Johnson Farmer.

She was a member of the Elkton Gospel Church, the American Medical Technology, and the Kentucky Foster Parents Association. She was a graduate of Tennessee Tech, a homemaker that loved her family as well as cooking, and she and her family lovingly fostered over one hundred children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Jami Hughes.  She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Reverend Timothy Hughes of Elkton; three sons, Dale Hughes of White House, Tennessee, Jonathan Hughes (Danielle) and David Hughes both of Elkton; five daughters, Sarah Harmon (Michael) of Houston, Texas, Barbara Short (Ricky) of Clermont, Florida, Rachel Hughes-Taylor (Charlie) of Elkton, Cheyanna Hughes of Bowling Green and Maritza DeLeon of Elkton; one sister, Pam Cassetty (Jim) of Palm Coast, Florida; twenty-nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the Hughes family will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home and again on Wednesday from 9:00 until 11:00 at the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Russellville.  Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday morning at 11:00 at the Gospel Tabernacle Church, 659 Cates Bypass Rd, Russellville, KY 42276 with Reverends Timothy Hughes, Alfred Daves, and Craig Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at the Glenwood Cemetery in Elkton.
