Wanda Carol Mayton, age 79, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at her home peacefully and surrounded by her loved ones. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 28, 2023, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mrs. Mayton was born in Hopkinsville, on December 11, 1943, the daughter of the late Calvin and Pauline Green. She had worked at Pennyrile Collection Agency. Carol loved bingo, yard sales, and taking her grandsons around. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Andy Mayton in 2015; and her sister, Dorris Morris.
Survivors include her sons, Ty Mayton of Hopkinsville, and Jimmy Lee Rifenberg of Texas; her daughter Geri Gates of Hopkinsville; her brothers, William “Possum” Edward Green of Texas, and Charles “ToJo” Randall Green of North Carolina; her sisters, Judy Ogden of Texas, Linda Millirans of Hopkinsville; her grandsons, Robert “Bobby” Young II, Raymond Andrew Mayton, Jordan Lee Rifenberg, Justin True Rifenberg; and her great-granddaughters, Emery Jane Rifenberg and Violet True Rifenberg.
