Another Trigg County Tire Amnesty event will take place this Thursday and Friday.
Trigg County Solid Waste Coordinator Jesse Thomas tells Your News Edge they collect around 4,000 tires each year with the program that takes place twice a year.
This event is open to Trigg County residents with any tires accepted.
Thomas adds this program would not be possible without the help of Trigg County Jailer James Hughes.
Tires can be dropped off at the Trigg County Road Department, next to the Jesse Thomas-Trigg County Recycling Center, at 2759 Hopkinsville Road. Trigg County residents can bring as many tires as they have but the event is not open to tire retailers.
Tires on and off the rim will be accepted, but foam-filled tires; off-road construction equipment tires; and solid tires with pressed-on rims are not allowed.
