Two Businesses Cited For Letting Minors Buy Tobacco Products

Police have cited two Hopkinsville businesses after an investigation into tobacco products being sold to minors.

Hopkinsville Police say they received multiple complaints about businesses letting minors buy tobacco products and conducted an investigation Friday into Saturday that resulted in two businesses being cited.

The Minit Mart on Skyline Drive and Valero on East 9th Street were both cited in the investigation.

Police say they will not tolerate this type of behavior from businesses in our community and they will be given a citation if they are found to be letting minors buy tobacco products.

Authorities encourage parents to be mindful of things their child may be purchasing while stopping at gas stations or stores.  Things to look out for are cigarettes, cigarette tobacco, smokeless tobacco, E-cigarettes, or other electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS).

Police ask if you have any information about tobacco products being sold to juveniles they ask that you call the Hopkinsville Christian County dispatch at 270-890-1300.
