Lois Yancey Stricklin, 95 pf Pembroke

Lois Yancey Stricklin, age 95, of Pembroke, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023, at her daughter’s home of natural causes.

Funeral Services will be at 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Maddux Funeral Home in Pembroke, and burial to follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux Funeral Home in Pembroke on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and from 10:00 AM until the time of service on May 11, 2023.  Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements. 

Mrs. Stricklin was born in Hardin County, Tenn., on June 6, 1927, the daughter of the late Louis and Alma Curry Yancey. She worked at International Shoe Company in Hopkinsville, was a homemaker, and was a member of Lester Memorial Presbyterian Church and West Fork Homemakers Club.  Lois held office in the Woodmen Life Lodge 5 and volunteered at Trail of Tears Heritage Center, Community Reader Day, and Pembroke Library.   She spent many years babysitting for working moms in Pembroke.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her husband of 58 years, Eugene Stricklin; her sisters, Curleene Toby, and Nancey Vinson; her great-grandchildren, Jennifer Crossett, Joshua Bowles, Tyler Bowles, and Luke Bowles; and her son-in-law, CA Thomas   

Survivors include her sons, Ron Stricklin of Orlando, Fla., David Stricklin (Nancy) of Hopkinsville; her daughters, Patricia Thomas of Oak Grove and Pam Roberson (Morris) of Herndon; six grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
