State Auditor Mike Harmon released the audit Thursday of the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office from 2021.
The report, which looked at the finances from Aaron Acree’s tenure from April 16, 2021, through August 31, 2022, showed the sheriff’s settlement was prepared on a regulatory basis and was found to be in compliance with accounting principles.
The financial statement presented the taxes charged, credited, and paid for the period without any instances of noncompliance or material weaknesses in internal control.
The sheriff’s office is funded through statutory commissions and fees collected for providing law enforcement and services for the county fiscal court and courts of justice.
