Many Americans will celebrate the upcoming holiday weekend by taking Monday off, and with that, the community is invited to a Memorial Day service at West Cadiz Park.
Organizer Brenda Southwick tells Your News Edge the service will begin at 10:00 Monday morning.
Southwick adds the program will feature a special presentation.
Southwick says it’s important to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Local organizations are helping to put flags on the gravesites of veterans buried in the area.
The Trigg County Memorial Day service is sponsored by the James Thomas Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. If you know of a local veteran’s gravesite that does not receive an American flag over the Memorial Day weekend, call Southwick at (270) 350-0345.
