Funeral services for 71-year-old Stevie Anderson Powell, of Clifty, will be held Tuesday morning, June 13, at 11:00, at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton.
Burial will follow in the Heltsley Cemetery in Clifty.
Visitation will be Monday, June 12, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and after 10:00 AM on Tuesday until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
He passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023, as a result of an automobile accident. Mr. Powell was born on August 25, 1951, in Muhlenberg County. He retired from Logan Aluminum and was the owner and operator of Genesis Nursery and Farming.
He was a graduate of the Electronic Institute of Louisville with an associate’s degree. Mr. Powell was a member of Trinity General Baptist Church where he was a Trustee and a member of the Clifty Antique Tractor Club. He was very artistic he loved painting, quilting, and growing flowers, and was an avid lover of watching his Martin birds.
He is preceded in death by his parents Eulis William Powell and Doris Irene Melton Powell.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Brenda Powell of Clifty, his sons Andy Powell and his wife Melissa of Clifty, and Bradley Powell of Clifty, his daughter Shannon Ray and her husband Darian of Clifty, his sisters Wanda Johnston and her husband Carl of Kirkmansville, and Darlene Groves and her husband Lanny of Clifty, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
