The National Weather Service is continuing to monitor weather conditions for the possible development of severe storms this evening.
According to the National Weather Service hazardous outlook a chance of thunderstorms today includes a risk of severe weather. The best chance of severe storms is this afternoon and evening. Damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes are the anticipated severe storm hazards. Locally heavy rain and lightning will be storm hazards as well.
The heat index this afternoon will average 100 to 105 degrees over most of the area.
