The heatwave plaguing much of the southern tier of the U-S is expanding…running from Colorado and New Mexico across to Kentucky and Tennessee. Meteorologist Jordan Didio of the Springfield, Missouri branch of the National Weather Service says his region is going to
be miserable for the rest of the week.

Dangerously hot conditions, with peak heat index values from 105 to 110 possible both Thursday and Friday.
Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
